A.A. Milne’s Pessimistic and gloomy donkey, brought to life by Walt Disney and here given a pop art makeover by Romero Britto, is the latest statement release from Enesco. This figurine is 25.5 cm high and features the gloomy donkey looking bemused at the Britto coloured butterfly that has just landed on his back foot.
Disney acquired the rights to ‘Winnie the Pooh’ in 1961 and the studio released the first short, ‘Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree’ in 1966.
Disney reportedly has paid $350 million for the rights to all the characters from the Winnie the Pooh stories, including Eeyore. Most recently, Disney Studios released a live-action film with Ewan McGregor as Christopher Robin and featuring all the gang from the Hundred Acre Wood.
